Why Kindly?
Kindly began as a small café with a lot of heart.
For over 25 years, Calgary’s Oolong Tea House has been a place where the community comes together over tea in the Kensington neighbourhood. Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of witnessing countless moments unfold within our walls — first dates that turned into love stories, friends gathering for hours of laughter, reunions, goodbyes, and quiet moments spent alone with a warm pot of tea.
Tea has always been at the centre of it all.
Just three years ago, we expanded and opened our second café in Inglewood, continuing to grow alongside the community that supported us from the very beginning.
It is thanks to those many years of patronage that we were able to bring our passion for tea beyond our cafés and across Canada by introducing Kindly Loose Leaf Tea.
Kindly is proudly Canadian owned and operated, founded and led by women with a shared passion for tea, hospitality, and community.
From our roots in Calgary to homes across the country, we remain deeply connected to where our story began. Every decision we make is grounded in care, quality, and a belief in creating meaningful tea experiences that bring people together.
We have a deep passion for the ritual of tea and a commitment to bringing Canadians the highest quality loose leaf teas, sourced internationally and thoughtfully curated for everyday enjoyment.
What began as teas shared across café tables has grown into a carefully selected online collection, shaped by years of customer favourites, conversations, and real in-person tea experiences.
Each tea you’ll find at Kindly has been shared, enjoyed, and loved before it ever made it online.
Now located in the city where our story began, our team blends and packs every order with care in our newly opened Tea Atelier in Calgary, Alberta.
From sourcing to packaging, we remain hands-on in every step by ensuring each order reflects the same attention and warmth that has defined our cafés for decades.
We believe in better tea, shared Kindly.
Tea is more than a product; It’s a ritual, a moment of connection, and a way to slow down in a busy world.
So whether you discovered us in our cafés or online for the first time, we invite you to be part of our story.
Will you join us for a cup?
